On December 7, 1972, 18,000 miles from the surface, the crew of Apollo 17 took a picture of Earth. From space, our planet resembled a marble.
This image, one of the most reproduced in human history, became known as “The Blue Marble”.
The blue of the oceans, the white of Antartica, the colors of life in Asia, and the vast Arabian Peninsula could all be appreciated from above. What a beautiful place to call home.
There is so much to see in this world. But there is also so much to do.
I believe that seeing the world is an important part of life. As we marvel at new places we’ve never seen, we realize how important it is to take care of our planet. How is it that all of this is here for us? For our enjoyment. For our sustainability. What better way to show our gratitude than by our actions. ♥
My name is Neli & I live in Houston, Texas with my husband and my two very human-like dogs.
Lately I have adopted the task of an environmentalist. So, current situation: trying to be as green, earth-conscious, and ethically responsible as possible.
I have started this blog with the intention of sharing my experiences, and this includes documenting about some of the most awe-inspiring places I’ve been to and what they’ve taught me about keeping the world a pristine and wholesome home for us.
I believe we can all learn from each other so I’d like to share what I know, and at the same time create a bit of awareness. Thanks for reading!
